Whether you’re a self-proclaimed pitmaster or a humble backyard BBQer, this is the perfect opportunity to see how your steak stacks up against the best. With rounds for both adults and kids, everyone has a chance to showcase their grilling skills and enjoy some friendly competition.
Or perhaps platters and salads are more your style?
Then get ready to unleash your culinary creativity in our ‘Anything Goes with Best Foods Mayo’ ancillary competition! Whip up any dish featuring Best Foods Mayo as the star ingredient—whether it’s a sauce, dressing, or an innovative condiment, the possibilities are endless!
While you can pre-cook parts of your dish at home, all final assembly must be done onsite for presentation at the competition on Saturday, 7th September. We’ll provide the Best Foods Mayo – you bring the rest!

With cash prizes up for grabs, both of these competitions are open to anyone who can grill, fry, cook, bake, or assemble something delicious! Now’s the time to get creative, impress the judges, and show us what you can do.

Special things to note:
– Both the SCA ‘Home on the Grill’ and the Ancillary ‘Anything Goes with Best Foods Mayo’ competitions are run by the SCA (Steak Cookoff Association) and will be held on the Saturday 7 September of the Auckland Home Show, at the Auckland Showgrounds.
– Steaks for the SCA ‘Home on the Grill’ competition are provided by Pure South.
– Best Foods Mayo will be provided for the Ancillary ‘Anything Goes with Best Foods Mayo’ competition.
– Timings, rules and competition details will be communicated to all competitors upon registration.
