Welcome to Formation Lights. Formation Lights started as an idea that I had in my 3rd year of study in Otago. I displayed my very first prototype the Tussock Light Shade, in my final year exhibition. Shortly after this inquiries started coming in, and 6 months later I had these light shades in lighting stores across New Zealand and orders flying out the door.
Formation Lights crafts bespoke, eco-friendly lighting and furniture. Our designs are inspired by the forms found in nature and blend sustainable materials with innovative craftsmanship. Each piece is handcrafted, ensuring for a high-quality product and a reduced environmental footprint. The goal for Formation Lights is to bring nature into homes through naturally formed lighting and furniture pieces.
